Nunzio Ruggiero's Story
Nunzio Ruggiero•Founder & Lead Photographer
•Miami, United StatesPlease introduce yourself and describe what you do for work.
My name is Nunzio Ruggiero, and I'm the founder of CorporatePhotographer.com, a Miami-based corporate event photography company serving clients nationwide. I specialize in photographing conferences, trade shows, executive summits, corporate galas, brand activations, and on-site headshots for businesses of all sizes.
What I enjoy most about my work is helping companies tell the story of their events through polished, editorial-style photography. My goal is to create images that not only document an event but also become valuable marketing assets that companies can use long after the event is over. Whether I'm photographing a leadership summit in Miami or a trade show across the country, I strive to deliver a professional experience that marketing teams can rely on.
How did you get started?
I've always been fascinated by photography and storytelling. What started as a personal passion gradually evolved into a career as I realized how much I enjoyed capturing meaningful moments and creating images with purpose.
As I gained experience, I found myself drawn to the corporate world. Corporate events move quickly, every moment matters, and there are no second chances. I enjoyed the challenge of working under pressure while producing polished, consistent imagery. Over time, I built relationships with companies, event planners, and marketing teams, which allowed me to grow from photographing local events into covering conferences and corporate events throughout the United States.
What is a common misconception that people have about you or your job?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that event photography is simply showing up with a camera and taking pictures. In reality, there's a tremendous amount of preparation, planning, communication, and problem-solving involved.
A corporate photographer has to understand branding, anticipate important moments before they happen, work seamlessly with event organizers, adapt to constantly changing lighting conditions, and deliver images that support a company's marketing goals. Every event is different, and success comes from preparation just as much as creativity.
What part of your journey were you unprepared for? What caught you off guard?
The biggest surprise was learning that building a successful business requires much more than being a good photographer.
Marketing, SEO, networking, client communication, contracts, accounting, travel logistics, and constantly improving your online presence all become just as important as the photography itself. I quickly realized that running a business means wearing many hats, and learning those skills has been just as important as mastering the camera.
What are you most proud of in your journey so far?
I'm most proud of building a business that companies trust with some of their most important events. Being hired to photograph executive summits, national conferences, trade shows, and corporate celebrations across the country is something I don't take for granted.
Knowing that clients return year after year and recommend my work to others is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. Those long-term relationships mean more to me than any single project.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone who wants to follow a similar path?
Focus on providing value rather than simply taking great photos.
Technical skills are important, but reliability, professionalism, communication, and understanding your client's business goals are what truly set you apart. Continue learning, be patient, and don't compare your journey to anyone else's. Every project is an opportunity to improve your craft and build trust, and those relationships will ultimately become your greatest asset.
Anything you would like to add?
I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who has trusted me throughout my journey, from my very first clients to the companies that continue to bring me back for their events. My goal is to keep raising the standard for corporate event photography while helping businesses tell their stories through authentic, impactful imagery.
Photography is about more than capturing what happened, it's about preserving the moments that define a brand, celebrate its people, and inspire future opportunities. I look forward to continuing that mission with every event I have the privilege to document.
