Interview
My #1 Startup Creating the #1 FoodTech FMCG
Staffan•Founder
•Barcelona, SpainPlease introduce yourself and describe what you do for work.
My name is Staffan and I’m the founder of Chew2Gain. I founded and lead my startup from scratch. Work? Not work, this is my passion.
How did you get started?
I got started by turning frustration into action. I’ve always felt a strong need to build something of my own, and instead of waiting for the “perfect moment,” I started with what I had. I validated ideas by talking to people, testing assumptions, and learning by doing. That momentum is what pulled me into entrepreneurship.
What is a common misconception that people have about you or your job?
People think founders have everything figured out or that it’s mostly freedom and hype. In reality, it’s a lot of uncertainty, responsibility, and decision-making with limited information. You’re constantly learning, adjusting, and carrying pressure that most people don’t see.
What part of your journey were you unprepared for? What caught you off guard?
The mental side. Doubt, patience, and managing uncertainty were harder than I expected. There are moments where nothing moves, doors close, or things take longer than planned, and you still have to stay focused and confident without external validation.
What are you most proud of in your journey so far?
I’m most proud of validating a real problem and committing to building a solution instead of just talking about it. Taking initiative, doing the research, speaking to real people, and pushing forward despite uncertainty has proven to me that I’m capable of executing, not just dreaming.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone who wants to follow a similar path?
Start before you feel ready and focus on learning through action. Don’t wait for permission or perfect conditions. Talk to people, test ideas early, and accept that discomfort is part of the process. Consistency beats confidence every time.
Anything you would like to add?
Execute now, learn on the way.
